2010 Began my journey into photography.

I first decided I wanted to try photography in the summer of 2010 as a means to get off my xbox and enjoy the weather. My first camera was a Nikon Coolpix P510. It was a point-and-shoot telephoto zoom camera with a back screen that you could pull out and turn so you could take low or high shots without needing to crawl on the ground or stand on a stool to see above obstacles. I loved this camera. I used it for events I went to and to take selfies but my main passion was taking photos of landscapes and close ups of flowers and insects.

After a few months of playing around with flowers and bugs I was approached by a girl asking me to do a shoot of her. Obviously I wasn't able to take great shots considering I only had a point and shoot but I ended up enjoying taking photos of people as much as landscapes and that's when I decided to buy myself a DSLR and start doing photo-shoots. I bought my first DSLR, the Nikon D3100, and started shooting local teen girls looking for better facebook photos than their friends lol.

Fall of 2011 is when I started getting serious into photography and moved to Halifax, NS. There, I networked with a lot of models, makeup artits and other photographers and developped my style of photography and worked with many young amazing models from total beginners to seasoned veterans in their field. I then registered "R.Tang Photography" that winter and have been a registered business since.

I mainly shoot people but I still do enjoy shooting landscapes and sunsets. Photography is definitely an amazing hobby and work that doesn't even feel like work. ^_^
